The Supreme Court is the ultimate judiciary body to maintain the Constitution and law of the United States. Above the doors of the magnificent corinthian marble structure are the words "Equal justice under law" and inside, the court meets to make descisions upon matters that need to be resolved independantly from the executive and legislature.
A collection of portraits of previous Justices is kept on the ground floor and visitors may hear a lecture given in the Courtroom when the court is not in session.
